Project Mbappé! The 21st century parenting plan.

 The way forward? Or......?

😊

So my friend Andrew actually drew my attention to this twitter trend (#projectMbappé) and discussing it with him made me realize that jokes and bants apart, guys are taking this seriously. Andrew has always loved to play football, and regardless of the kind of week he's had, he makes sure to play every weekend. He believes he could have been a national football star if his mother hadn't kicked against professional sports when he was younger.

Now, a successful man in a non-sports field, he's become an avid believer in #projectMbappé. He believes his son or daughter will definitely love football and he'd be their coach as soon they can kick a ball ( at 6 months old maybe?).

What is #ProjectMbappé?

Project Mbappé is the new objective of 21st century fathers (or prospective fathers) that ensure their sons (or daughters) go through intensive football training to become the next great footballer like Kylian Mbappé.

Kylian Mbappé is a French professional football player who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club; Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and the France national team.

By 21, he has already won one world cup, four Ligue 1 titles, been shortlisted for the Balloon d'Or three times!

A born model too....

He's considered one of the best players in the world and is known for his clinical finishing (what is that??🤔) dribbling, strength and explosive speed.

Wow. Impressive. How did he get here?

His father, Wilfrid has always been his coach and agent, but at age 6, he was being professionally trained by As Bondy's Antonio Riccardi. His siblings are also professional football players. He got a pic with his hero; Christiano Ronaldo even before his worldwide takeover at 16. Talk of keeping your eyes on the prize.

14 year old Mbappé, chilling with Ronaldo.😎

Okay. Wait up. Craft a legend from infancy? Nice fantasy, right? Well, it's doable. Mbappé snr did it and produced results.

Father of 6 year old Arat Hosseini is also popular for successfully executing #ProjectMbappé with his son.

Starting from when he was a toddler, Arat has received rigorous training, and apparently, loves to gym and exercise. He even sets his daily targets and gets filmed by his father. He now spots abs, a fully ripped 6 packs and is currently training at Liverpool academy, patiently waiting to be signed to Liverpool FC once he's nine. Wow. What a feat!

Oh boy.  PC: @arat.gym

In another few years, with this level of consistency, Arat has the makings to be the next Mbappé.

Just watch him go! Its just like the boy can fly!

Twitter all over the world is excited, with fathers uploading their own #projectMbappé video of their own sons kicking footballs, or failing to do so....

@433 posted this on Twitter. #projectMbappé activated.

The question RHD has for her readers this: As beautiful as the prospect of raising the next GOAT, or Mbappé is, won't we be making the same mistake as our parents who insisted we studied medicine, law and other colourful professions by wholeheartedly hopping on this trend?

  1. Our parents would want us to read these nice courses because they felt it creates a successful environment and it would also be nice when they introduce their children to their friends ‘that’s my son...he is a doctor’ same with football ‘my son scored his first goal for Manchester United’ a thing of joy
I think if my child is happy with the career path i choose..Fine...if he’s not...he’s free to decline...

  2. Project mbappe sounds interesting as I have friends that have started already, but I also feel like the world would need other stars in other aspect of life and it is our duty to help channel the energy of our kids in whatever direction they please

  3. I just feel parents can choose whatever they think it's okay for their children while growing up and if the child reach a stage where he or she can decide for himself/herself then he should be allowed to

  5. I feel most parents want the best for their children, so they believe telling them what to do is best for them. Unknown to them their children don't have interest in what their parents wanted them to dom. It's best that parent should allow their children to follow their own dream and path, but parental guidance is key.

  6. He's more successful because of his interest in football as a person and his passion for it.
While focusing on this aspect, let's not forget other minor aspect like javlin, high jump, etc. They need to be invested in too

    1. Exactly. It's all about passion. No matter how much you invest if the child doesn't have passion for football at some point he will decline. Project Mbappé is good but let's not make it a do or die affair.

  8. Parenting basically should be about helping children grow, building capacity. Parents are not meant to enforce dreams the children don't have on them, otherwise they would be tired and worn out. Let your children be themselves, let them discover themselves also.

  9. I feel is been self creating a part for our children, why not give them the option of following there own part.

  10. One thing is for sure.. I'll make sure my kids start learning sports from age 3. Then choose which sports to play later on if they want to be professionals. They also have to study these nice courses alongside.

  11. This is a good read with salient points. I however believe we tow the same line as our parents if we try to create such "project" for our kids without their 'buy-in'

  12. Just have money first and it would be easier for your child to follow passion. Na pikin we don chop go follow you reason #projectMbappe
