How did 'Jenifa' become the Style Icon?😱😱

She who caught our eye this week:

My name is Jenifa...

-Watch out for Top 9 stylish moments from "Jenifa" (Funke Akindele) in recent times.

E shock you? E shock me too!

Funke Akindele has been in the entertainment industry for more than 2 handfuls of years now, and while you'll most likely call to mind at first mention of the name her energetic screen presence, comical lines and actions in movies, and of course her Jenifa or omo ghetto movies, style Icon would most likely not have been on the list when you think of Funke.

Minimalistic fashion? There you have it.

The Nigerian actress, content creator and producer at Scene one productions limited is unlimited these days. The Iya ibeji (mother of twins) Is known for her business and acting prowess, but now, we just might add Style Icon to the list. Starting from AMVCAs earlier this year, Funke's style started getting more recognition on the red carpet....!

Popularly known for being 'carefree', this 'carefully' put together look, definitely had our attention.

Celebrity stylist Medlin boss has been styling the actress for a while now, but this month of August, the stylist and her muse decided to pepper us back to back with mouthwatering styles and fashionable concepts.

1.

This hot pink dress with THE slit. Had to look twice at who was in it!

Still in doubt? Yh, it's really her.

2.

Wide legged pants and ruffles may not look good on everyone.....

......but trust a stylist to make it work!

3.

Pulling of a minimal floral look in a bright coloured midi dress...

Burnt orange is a whole vibe to add to the wardrobe right?

4.
Statement pants from medlincouturecollection

Definitely a 'first lady' look.

5.

Trendy and Traditional for anniversary shoot with hubby.

Asooke but definitely new age style from @bimms24

6.
All regal and golden in this one.

A Diva to the core... Or is that a side JJ brings out in her? 🤐

7.

Bodycon dresses might nor be the best for her shape, but this caramel number with its Balmain style pattern does the illusion work to perfection.

Got lost at the styling lingo? Lol. It's okay, just admire the drip!

8.

The hair, the eyes, the bling, fringe dress....... P.E.R.F.E.C.T.

9.

Not far at all from her personal style, but the choice of shoes speak style, and since it happened this month, it had to make the list.

The attention to details like Funke's body shape, her tendency towards minimalism, love of colours (plain or bright) is apparent in these looks. Styling should accentuate your own personal style and her stylist has captured that quite well.

Although, I believe Funke has always loved fashion, it's evident in love for clothes, she comes off as a carefree and versatile person who wouldn't pay much attention to what people say or how she even looks. These pictures do tell another story entirely.

So, how did Jenifa- sorry, Funke become quite the style Icon? Here's what we see: When you love fashion, but still work with a stylist (one who knows their onions), you step out looking like a million dollars every time. Your personal style meets with professional style bringing out an obvious style direction which is key in making a fashion statement. Well done Funke.

The Jenifa's dairies franchise is just one out of a bunch of Funke's well known works. She recently announced the return to screen of another well known character (and I must add: alter ego) of hers; Omo Ghetto. Yes, Omo Ghetto; The saga is coming out soon so, watch out #jenifans.

How would you rate this new style direction of Funke Akindele?

What's your favorite Funke's Akindele movie role?
